MELBOURNE’S Sinead Goldrick is a chance to make her long-awaited return to footy in this week’s clash against Carlton.

The club’s AFLW High Performance Manager Sam Batterton said Goldrick, who sustained a knee injury in the lead up to Round 1, would look to be available for the Friday night match at Ikon Park.

“Goldie has progressed well this week in recovering from her MCL injury,” Batterton said.

“She will train this Thursday with the view to be available for selection.”

Georgia Gall (foot), Eliza McNamara (back), Gabby Colvin (knee) and Rhi Watt (knee) are continuing through their rehab programs, with Gall a few weeks away from availability.

“Georgia continued to integrate into the main group’s training and is coping well,” Batterton said.

“Lizey has made some big steps forward in her rehab over the last few weeks and continues to tick a number of boxes in her return from her spinal surgery which is very exciting for her and the broader group.

“Gabby and Rhi are also tracking well in their rehabilitation from their respective ACL surgeries with Rhi beginning to get involved with some of the main group skills drills.”
