Not many other Casey players can boast the same influence that Mitch White has had on the Demons.

Since he first pulled on the Casey jumper in 2015, Mitch White has bled red and blue for his Demons.

Now, the Casey captain will bring up an incredible milestone, as he will play his 100th VFL game for the Demons on Sunday against Carlton at Casey Fields.

It all started back in 2015, when Melbourne Football Club selected the talented prospect with the 20th pick of the Rookie Draft.

In round three of that season, ‘Whitey’ first played for Casey, beginning his career as a half-back flanker.

By the final round of 2015, White made his AFL debut, playing the first of his four games at the highest level against GWS in a 26-point win at Marvel Stadium.

Yet he would continue to predominantly play for Casey, playing a leading role for the red and blue in 2016 as Casey made its first VFL Grand Final since 1999. Despite going down to Footscray by 31-points on Grand Final day, White’s superb 2016 campaign ensured he received a spot on Melbourne’s main playing list.

But ‘Whitey’s’ career was soon to take a bump when Melbourne delisted him at the conclusion of the 2017 season. Such was his love for the Demons, White stayed on with Casey and signed as a VFL player for 2018 onwards.

White has been stellar for Casey since his first VFL game for the club in 2015, playing down back, up forward and now in the midfield as he continues to lead from the front. His 2022 season has been superb, as he has led the way from the middle and formed a formidable centre bounce line-up with the likes of Jimmy Munro and Luke Dunstan.

His leadership has also grown during his 100 games with Casey, as he continues to be an excellent captain for the Demons as it remains unbeaten and on top of the ladder in this VFL season.

With his 100th game coming in the Channel 7 televised Sunday clash against Carlton, White will get the recognition he deserves for a fantastic career to date with the Demons, that will hopefully receive a cherry on top if he can lead Casey to future glory.
