THE DEMONS will give midfielder Clayton Oliver every chance to line-up against Port Adelaide on Sunday, although he remains in doubt for the clash in Alice Springs.

Oliver fractured his thumb during the last quarter of Melbourne’s Round 17 match and will be racing the clock to prove his fitness this weekend.

The 24-year-old underwent surgery on Saturday and has begun his recovery process.

Oliver wasn’t the only Demon to be struck down last round, with Deakyn Smith suffering a fractured jaw in the VFL on Friday night.

Smith had surgery to repair the damage on Monday and will likely miss a month of action.

In positive news, Blake Howes (foot), Andy Moniz-Wakefield (groin) and Daniel Turner (face) are all back into training and available for selection, although they will have one more week to freshen up with a bye scheduled for the Casey Demons.

Watch below as Dr Laura Lallenec provides an update on the club’s full injury list.
