FROM a hotel room in Manly, to raising $25,000, it’s been quite the journey for Gus and Gawny in the past two years.

Thanks to the support of platinum partner Zurich Insurance, the ‘Friends of the Podcast’ have united to make a difference, with 500 t-shirts selling out at a rapid rate.

On Wednesday, co-hosts Angus Brayshaw and Max Gawn donated the funds raised directly to the Fight MND cause, with Bec Daniher receiving the cheque on behalf of her father, Neale.

Throughout the 53-episode series to date, Gus and Gawny have achieved some big things, told some great stories, and had plenty of laughs.

But thanks to the fanbase, this week’s milestone takes the cake.

“The Gus and Gawny podcast, from humble beginnings – Jake Lever nearly sunk it in the second episode – for us to be here now, we’ve got $25,000 from selling t-shirts, it’s a really special feeling,” Brayshaw said.

“To be able to contribute to such a meaningful cause really close to our hearts, and to do it from Gawny and I really just mucking around over the last couple of years, is really special.

“I’d like to thank everyone who bought the shirts.

“We’ve sort of said, you’re not an actual friend of the podcast, you have to come on to earn that right, but the t-shirt is a special way to be involved and we’ve got an awesome community of people who listen.

“The $25,000 cheque is from us to the foundation.

“I hope it goes to good use – I’m sure it will. It’s the least we can do.

“In a time where there’s a bit going on it’s nice to be able to get some positivity back into things and do our bit.”

While the limited-edition tees are sold out, five shirts remain.
