WHILE the Demons boast some of the best midfielders in the game, one young man is going about his business quietly on the wing.

James Jordon continued his fine form on Sunday night, recording an equal career-high 27 disposals in his side’s victory over the Eagles.

The 21-year-old, who was the medical sub in the Dees’ premiership win at Optus Stadium last year, has cemented himself in the club’s best 22 throughout the 9-0 start to the season.

And in doing so, he’s helped those around him succeed.

“I’m just happy to be playing my role each week and give the likes of Clarry and Trac the license to play the way they play,” Jordon told Melbourne Media.

“And we’ve obviously got the best winger in the comp on the other side in Langers, so I’ve been loving the way he’s been going as well.”

Langdon and Jordon line-up on opposite sides of the field and don’t cross paths throughout the game, but as a pair, have become an integral component of the Demons’ midfield.

And Jordon says his counterpart has helped his development in 2022.

“We don’t really see each other too much during the game because he just plays 100 percent,” he said.

“But during the week he’s really good – just helps me with little things when we review the game.

“He’s awesome – he has a good footy brain.”

The learning doesn’t stop there for Jordon, who has leant heavily on Clayton Oliver since being drafted with pick No.33 in 2018.

“Ever since I got to the club, we’ve grown close together,” Jordon said.

“He’s one of my best mates and we get along pretty well.”
