FOUR changes have been made to Melbourne’s starting 22, as it prepares to take on Hawthorn in Round 7.

Jake Lever and Jack Viney will be welcomed back to the side after missing Round 6 under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols.

Following a strong three-goal display in the VFL last weekend, Tom McDonald has earned himself a spot in Melbourne’s line-up, alongside young Demon Toby Bedford, who has been named after impressing on the track.

As announced on Wednesday, Kysaiah Pickett, Luke Jackson and Tom Sparrow will miss the match under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols, with Harrison Petty joining the trio.  

Melbourne’s emergency list for Round 7 includes Adam Tomlinson, Oskar Baker, Kade Chandler and Mitch Brown.

Earlier in the week it was announced that senior coach Simon Goodwin would also be unable to attend Saturday’s match after testing positive to COVID-19, with assistant coach Adem Yze set to take the reins on game day.

Melbourne will host Hawthorn at the MCG, with the first bounce at 4:35pm (AEST).
