GOOD luck stopping Steven May from playing in a Grand Final.

“There’s no chance I’m missing that,” he said with a beaming smile on Saturday morning.

The Demons’ star defender was subbed out of his side’s Friday night win against the Cats with hamstring soreness, but in his mind, fronting up for the next training session isn’t out of the equation.

“It’s pulled up really well – as good as I had hoped,” May said.

“The fact that my strength and everything was there, and I was able to go back on, gave me a lot of confidence.”

After an injury-riddled debut campaign with the Dees back in 2019, the former Gold Coast captain has missed just two games in the past two seasons.

Earning an All Australian blazer this year, May has been a crucial factor in Melbourne’s surge to the last week in September, and despite playing just 50 percent of the Preliminary Final, he’s comfortable with the position he is in with a week off ahead.

“I’m super confident in my body, I know my body pretty well now – I’ve been in really good shape this year,” he said.

“The strength in my hamstrings and my own confidence in my body is at an all-time high.

“I think last night was just a bit more of a nervy scare, but it’s business as usual come Monday, I guess.”
