Melbourne has made a late change ahead of its Round 22 game against the Crows.

Defender Steven May will miss the clash with general soreness and will be replaced in the side by Joel Smith.

GM - Football Performance Alan Richardson said May would likely only miss the one game.

“Mayesy was feeling a bit sore throughout the week, we gave him every opportunity to get up for the game, but he’s still not 100%.

“We expect him after a full week of training, he’ll be fit and firing for our match against Geelong.”

Earlier in the week it was announced that Smith had signed a one-year contract extension to remain a Demon until the end of the 2022 season.

Smith is an athletic defender who played seven games over the 2020 season.

Aaron vandenBerg has been named as the medical-sub.
