Sam Weideman put his name in lights during the 2018 finals series, starring with 23 disposals and three goals against Geelong.
The young key forward didn’t reach those lofty heights last season, but is still quite raw in the league and developing his craft.
A nasty jaw injury in the VFL ended his season early, and a hip operation meant a delayed start to pre-season, but he has put on some size and looks ready to take the next step in 2020.
Weideman has also signed a two-year contract extension with the club, looking to be a pivotal part of Melbourne’s forward line for many years to come.
The former No.9 draft pick takes a strong overhead mark and has skills on both sides of his body, making him an exciting player to watch in the future.
