The Casey Demons are off to IKON Park in Round 1 of the rebel VFLW Premiership Season, going up against Carlton on Saturday February 27 at 2:00pm.

The last time these two sides faced-off was way back in Round 2 in 2019, when the Demons got the better of the Blues by 31 points out at Casey Fields. 

Crowds will be permitted at all matches in Round 1 unless otherwise advised. Matches will be streamed through the VFLW digital channels.

A first for both VFLW and AFLW is having both competitions partaking alongside one another, allowing players not selected in their AFLW sides to play for there VFLW-aligned sides from February to April.

There are 12 clubs partaking in the 2021 rebel VFLW Premiership Season: Carlton, Casey Demons, Collingwood, Darebin, Essendon, Geelong, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Port Melbourne, Southern Saints, Western Bulldogs & Williamstown.

Teams will field 16 players per side, with five on the bench. AFLW-aligned VFLW clubs must select a minimum of five under 22 players in all matches, while non-aligned VFLW clubs (Essendon, Darebin, Hawthorn and Williamstown) must select a minimum of three under 22 players in all matches.

The season will be 14 games played over 16 weeks, with a Top 6 finals series to commence in June, which will be played over four weeks. Currently, the VFLW Grand Final is scheduled for the weekend of July 10, 2021.
