MELBOURNE’S annual Member Forum will go digital in 2020.

The exclusive online event, to be held on Thursday 10 December, will invite members to dial in and hear from club leaders.

A series of presentations will be shared in an online Zoom format, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and will be designed to give members a full update on all areas of the football program.

CEO Gary Pert reinforced the purpose of the night, saying it is about transparency and accountability.

“Each year, the Member Forum is an opportunity for all club leaders to provide deep insight to our members on all facets of the football program,” he told Melbourne Media.

“It is also important that we take the opportunity to make ourselves available for questions and provide a platform for accountability.

“We are a member-based club, and we are all in this together, which is why sharing this information is so important. We want members to understand our strategy and the reasons behind the decisions we make on behalf of the Club.

“With that being said, we will not only address the performance elements of the 2020 season, but we will also address the major improvements that have been made for 2021.”

In addition to hearing from the CEO, members will also hear from Chairman Glen Bartlett, AFL Senior Coach Simon Goodwin, General Manager of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson, General Manager of Football Facilities and Administration Josh Mahoney and Performance Manager Darren Burgess.

With the forum taking place the night after the 2020 NAB AFL Draft, the Demons’ new draftees will say hello, while Recruiting Manager Jason Taylor will talk through the club’s selections.

Recruit Ben Brown will feature on the night, in what will be his first opportunity to talk to members and share his thoughts for the 2021 season.

AFLW coach Mick Stinear will also provide an update on how the group’s pre-season is tracking.

Melbourne’s 2020 and 2021 members will need to sign up for the event by December 8 and will have the opportunity to submit questions when doing so.
