A BIG WIN OVER Collingwood in Round 12 has seen five Demons poll in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

The coaches couldn’t split Clayton Oliver, Angus Brayshaw and Ed Langdon in determining the best player on the ground, awarding them each six votes for their efforts at the Gabba.

Oliver continued to build on his 2020 form, finishing with 24 disposals, 13 of which were contested, five scoring involvements and a goal in Melbourne’s 56-point win.

The 23-year-old also managed eight clearances and four tackles.

Brayshaw was just as impressive in the middle, collecting 23 touches and a goal of his own on Saturday night.

The No.10, who received six votes in Round 11, also recorded eight intercepts, six scoring involvements and four clearances.

Langdon showed his composure around the ground, with his 22-disposal game a standout.

The 24-year-old kicked two goals, his first for the Demons, and finished with seven contested possessions.

Christian Petracca was the next best for Melbourne, receiving four votes for his 24-disposal display.

After earning a perfect 10 votes last week, the midfielder also kicked a goal and managed eight loose ball gets.

Charlie Spargo was recognised for his three-goal performance (two votes), while Collingwood’s Taylor Adams (three votes) and Steele Sidebottom (three votes) rounded out the top performers.

Petracca remains in second position on the interim leaderboard with 54 votes, while Brisbane’s Lachie Neale sits atop (75 votes). The leaderboard is currently being updated following each day’s matches.
