MELBOURNE has signed up more than 19,000 members, just two weeks before Christmas.

The Demons have increased their membership by 1,500 to 2,000 compared to the same stage last year.

Already demand for reserved seating is at an all-time high.

And although reserved seating in the Olympic Stand is almost sold out, opportunities still exist in the Southern Stand.

The benefits of reserved seating means Melbourne supporters can sit in the same seat at the MCG for every home game.

This allows members to sit among fellow Melbourne supporters.

President Jim Stynes praised the effort, but is hoping for another big push by the end of the year.

“This is a very pleasing result, but we need to keep the momentum going,” Stynes told melbournefc.com.au.

“Every membership counts and goes a long way to providing the club with a strong foundation.

“Let’s see if we can get to 20,000 by the New Year - that would be a great Chrissie present.”
