Fans everywhere rally behind Club
The Club has been overwhelmed today by the support from not just Melbourne supporters, but football fans and the entire community
The MFC Facebook page, switchboards and inboxes have been flooded with messages paying tribute to Jim Stynes, and we have received many enquiries from people asking how they can support the club.
The Stynes family have requested that people make a donation to the Reach Foundation or the Peter Mac Cancer Foundationin lieu of flowers.
For those who wish to show their support for Jim by contributing to the Melbourne Football Club, we have suggested a few ways that you can do so.
The Demon Heartland program provides the opportunity for supporters to make donations of $50, which are used to purchase tickets for young people to come to the footy. Tickets are distributed via schools, community groups and grassroots footy clubs to give more kids the chance to experience a Demons game at the MCG.
Those wishing to support by purchasing a membership can sign up for a 3 game membership for just $90 or visit membership.melbournefc.com.au to sign up online.
Or if you want to show your support more visually, you can purchase a guernsey from the Demon Shop - proudly featuring the Reach Foundation logo- combining two of Jim’s great passions.
Over 1,700 people have sent their messages of tribute via the Club website. These messages will be presented to the Stynes family (no matter how thick the book ends up being).
