THE COACHES were unanimous in naming Christian Petracca best afield on Sunday, with the midfielder climbing to third position on the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard.

Petracca has now polled votes in three consecutive games, receiving a perfect 10 for his 29-disposal effort against the Hawks.

Ruckman Max Gawn, who has been feeding his onballers this season, polled eight votes after having 27 hit-outs, 22 disposals, eight intercept possessions and six contested marks.

Four other Demons were recognised for their performances in Round 7, with Clayton Oliver (5 votes), Jack Viney (3 votes), Steven May (2 votes) and Sam Weideman (1 vote) considered the best contributors at GIANTS Stadium.
