AS CONFIRMED by Simon Goodwin on Thursday, Tom McDonald won’t be facing the Hawks in Round 7.
The Dees are opting to take a cautious approach with the 27-year-old’s eye, which has opened up a spot in the side for an extra forward.
Luke Jackson has been added to the 26-man squad and would be the like-for-like inclusion, although Joel Smith has the ability to swing forward and could be an option for the clash with Hawthorn.
Nathan Jones, Alex Neal-Bullen and Adam Tomlinson are the other additions to the extended bench, with Melbourne set to name its final 22 on Friday evening.
