IT HAS BEEN another whirlwind couple of days for the Demons, who are now settling into life in Manly after a rushed move up north.

With COVID-19 continuing to impact Victoria, Melbourne has had to relocate in order to keep the 2020 season alive.

And while the Dees are in a fortunate position to some extent, the sacrifice is real.

“It’s never great when you’re hearing about Victorian restrictions and how all our families are going to be back into lockdown,” Mahoney said on Episode 2 of The Talking Points.

“We’ve all got families – I’ve got three kids back at home … so there’s all those extra pressures.

“Everyone is feeling it, and really what we’re encouraging is like anything, just talk about it.

“We’ll do everything we can to try and take some of that away, but the other part is we’re up here for a purpose as well, and the one thing we can do is actually win games of footy.

“And we know how much joy that brings to everyone – brings to our supporters, brings to our players and staff.

“That’s basically our role, to win games of footy, and that’s going to be our purpose.”

Watch below as Mahoney dissects all the big issues of the week, including Melbourne’s hub set-up and its loss to the Tigers last weekend.
