Dees go unchanged

After adding five players last week, the Demons have named the same 22 for their Round 5 clash with Richmond.

It will be the first time they’ve gone into a game unchanged this season, having made a total of 12 changes from just two team selections.

Despite a narrow loss to Geelong in Round 4, coach Simon Goodwin is keen to build on the group’s continuity, with Sunday’s battle a big opportunity to do so.

The ones that missed

Melbourne added four players to its squad on Thursday, with Mitch Brown, Luke Jackson, Oscar McDonald and Charlie Spargo all named on the extended bench.

Although they weren’t able to break into the side, the four have been made emergencies.

What it means

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the competition is facing different challenges each week.

The Demons will now head to Sydney for Round 6 and 7, meaning a victory over the reigning premiers at home will be as crucial as ever.

Sunday’s match will also be just their second at the MCG so far this season.

Look out for

It’s hard to miss Kozzy Pickett when he gets the ball in his hands.

The youngster provided plenty of spark for the Dees in last week’s loss and will be looking to have more of an impact this time around.

If Pickett can keep up the intensity and hit the scoreboard, the Dees will be threatening up forward.
