CLAYTON Oliver’s impressive display against Gold Coast has earned him the equal-most votes in the Round 8 AFL Coaches Association Award.

The Melbourne midfielder received nine votes from the coaches in the Demons’ one-point win at Metricon Stadium, finishing with 38 disposals, 22 of which were contested, 15 tackles and five marks.

Gold Coast’s David Swallow was also awarded nine votes for his 35-possession effort.

The Demons’ co-captain Nathan Jones, who collected 28 disposals of his own, received five votes, while Jake Melksham (three votes) and James Harmes (two votes) were also recognised.

Suns Ben Ainsworth and Darcy MacPherson rounded out those judged best afield with one vote each.
