MELBOURNE will hold its annual general meeting on February 4, 2015, 6.30pm.

There will be no election required at the AGM, as there are three board vacancies and three candidates. In accordance with rule 3.4(g) of the club's constitution, those candidates are deemed to be elected to the club's board and will hold office from the close of the annual general meeting.

The AGM will see one new face added to the board. Mohan Jesudason nominated for the board during the nomination period.

President Glen Bartlett said he was delighted Jesudason had nominated for the board.

“We are very pleased that Mohan Jesudason has agreed to join the board of the Melbourne Football Club. Mohan brings a diverse business background to the board and a wealth of relevant experience. He has strong commercial relationships and a broad skill set with a strong track record of being involved in turning businesses around,” he said.

Jesudason has a strong and diverse commercial background, having worked for AXA (now AMP) for 16 years, Telecom New Zealand (eight years), Tabcorp (10 years) and now Freestyle Technology.

In addition, David Thurin will retire at the annual general meeting and has offered himself for re-election.

As permitted by rule 3.3 of the club's constitution, Steven Morris was appointed as a director of the club's board on November 3.  As required by law and the club's constitution, Morris automatically retires at the annual general meeting and has offered himself for re-election.
