THE Melbourne Football Club is proud to announce that Furphy has joined as the Official Beer Partner for the 2020 season and beyond.

While the Demons are experiencing challenging times throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Furphy’s commitment to the Club is a positive step forward, following the launch of its first ever TV campaign which celebrates grassroots footy in Victoria.

Lion Australia Managing Director James Brindley said it felt appropriate for Furphy to be making this announcement now, despite the highly unusual circumstances.

“To many Victorians, the postponement of the footy season must feel like a bit of a furphy itself, but we want to show our solidarity to the Dees and their supporters now more than ever,” Brindley told Melbourne Media

“We will keep our eye on the red and the blue and stand by them through this challenging time.

“One thing that unites us all, regardless of the team we support or the league we follow, is having a beer with mates after the game and telling a few tall tales. And while we can’t do that at the moment, we will be on standby for when regular programming resumes for the team of the red and the blue.

“In the mean time we hope Dees supporters will crack open a cold Furphy and catch-up with mates virtually to reminisce on great moments of the Club’s past.”

Melbourne Football Club Chief Executive Officer Gary Pert shares Brindley’s passion and is thrilled to have Furphy on board in 2020.
