MELBOURNE will open its 2020 NAB AFL Women’s campaign with a Saturday afternoon contest against the Kangaroos on February 8.

The clash, which has been scheduled for 3.10pm, will be one of three home games at Casey Fields for the Demons next year.

The red and blue will also host West Coast at the venue in Round 5 (Sunday 8 March), before rounding out the regular season against the Gold Coast SUNS on Sunday 29 March.

Travel is on the agenda twice in 2020, with both a home and away game set to be played interstate.

The Demons will welcome Carlton to Alice Springs in Round 6 – the home game is part of a four-year agreement with the Northern Territory government – for a Saturday night clash on March 14 (6.10pm ACST).

They will then head west to take on the Dockers in Round 7, with the Sunday 22 March game locked in at Fremantle Oval.

Melbourne’s three other away games will all be Victorian based, running consecutively from rounds 2 to 4. The Demons will take on the Western Bulldogs (VU Whitten Oval), St Kilda (RSEA Park) and Collingwood (Victoria Park) respectively.

The 2020 season will again be played using a two-pool conference system, as four new teams enter the competition.

Melbourne has been placed in Conference B, alongside Fremantle, Western Bulldogs, Carlton, Collingwood, St Kilda and West Coast.

Adelaide, North Melbourne, Geelong, Greater Western Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Richmond make up Conference A.
