CHIEF Executive Officer Peter Jackson says the club was delighted with the new agreement, which will see New Balance continue as the club’s official on-field apparel partner for a further three years, extending the partnership length to nine years.

“We are excited to announce that New Balance has recommitted to the club for a further three years,” he said.

“Over the past six years, New Balance has provided key support to the club and we appreciate the faith they have shown in us and the direction we are heading both on and off the field.

“We are immensely proud to have the continued backing of a global powerhouse brand in New Balance, and the technical benefits that their innovative products provide for our athletes.  

“The next three seasons will be very exciting for the club, its members, supporters and commercial partners, and we are optimistic about the possibilities they will present for this partnership.”

New Balance General Manager of Pacific Ricky Knight said New Balance were thrilled to be extending the partnership with Melbourne Football Club, in what will be one of the longest sportswear apparel sponsorships of an AFL club.

“As a global brand built on a strong 110 year long history, New Balance set out over six years ago to be involved with a historical club that shared the same values as we do, and we are now delighted to enter into a third term with the Melbourne Football Club,” he said.

“Through our partnership with the Club, and sponsorship of its Captain Nathan Jones, we are looking forward to a successful season as we strive for excellence together both on and off the field.

“I would like to thank the Melbourne Football Club and its fans for the ongoing support and look forward to an exciting 2017 and beyond.”

As part of the partnership, New Balance will supply MFC with a bespoke playing and training kit for 2017. New Balance designers collaborated with MFC players to create a range that delivers on performance, technology and comfort allowing athletes to perform at their highest level.

The renewed partnership secures New Balance’s ongoing presence and expected growth in the field of play.
