MELBOURNE will welcome back key defender Steven May this weekend, as the prized recruit has been declared fit to play against the Magpies.

The 27-year-old will be a welcome addition to the Demons’ side, coming in for Braydon Preuss who has been omitted.

Despite missing the past two games with a minor hamstring strain, May was close to returning against the Tigers last weekend and will be ready to line up at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

The Dees have made just the one change following last week’s 33-point loss to Richmond, as they look to bounce back after four consecutive defeats.

Marty Hore, Alex Neal-Bullen, Preuss and Billy Stretch will all be emergencies for Saturday’s game, before playing for the Casey Demons in the VFL on Sunday, if they aren’t called upon.

Get along to the MCG to see former Demon Jeff Farmer take on ex-Magpie Peter Daicos in a goal kicking challenge, as Melbourne celebrates Retro Rival Round this weekend.
