MELBOURNE members are urged to take note of their entitlements ahead of the Queen’s Birthday clash at the MCG.

Monday’s match will see Collingwood host the Demons in Big Freeze 5, with over 80,000 people expected to attend.

Members who hold a Home game membership will not have access to this match using their membership card and will need to purchase a ticket through Ticketek to attend. Their membership barcode cannot be used when doing so, as these members’ entitlements are only for Home games.

In contrast, members who hold a Home and Away membership can use their membership card to scan in at the ground, attending in a general admission capacity.

Alternatively, Home and Away members can use their membership barcode to upgrade to a reserved seat through Ticketek at a subsidised rate. With general admission subject availability, the Club is strongly advising these members to do so, to guarantee their entry into the ground.

Limited general public tickets are also still available but are selling fast. As a result, fans are recommended to secure tickets through Ticketek prior to the game.

Patrons are also encouraged to explore their transport options in getting to and from the MCG. For safety and security reasons, public parking in Yarra Park has been closed, with only a limited number of parks available for disability permit holders via gate 3.

With these measures in place, along with all the Big Freeze 5 pre-game action, patrons are encouraged to arrive early to the ground.

All AFL and public reserve gates will open at 12.30pm, with the MCC gates scheduled to open at 12pm.

Zurich Walk to the ‘G

In further support of the fight against motor neurone disease, Melbourne will again host the Zurich Walk to the ‘G at Federation Square.

The Demons and FightMND are encouraging all supporters to join Neale Daniher from 11.30am, with a range of activities planned for the special event.

Along with Zurich flag and collector cup giveaways, face painting and Big Freeze 5 beanie sales, the crowd will also hear from Daniher, Melbourne players and special guests on stage.

The walk will depart for the MCG at 1.15pm.

Big Freeze 5 Slide

The Big Freeze Slide is back for another year, with 13 former sports stars preparing to slide into the ice.

From 2pm, Lauren Jackson, Dane Swan, Nick Riewoldt, Brendan Fevola, Jimmy Bartel, Anna Meares, Bianca Chatfield, Jobe Watson, Chris Judd, Liam Picken, Bob Murphy, Sam Mitchell and Brent Harvey will brave the cold.

Big Freeze 5 Beanies

Beanies are now sold out online, but limited quantities will be available for purchase on the day for $20.

Fans can purchase a beanie at Federation Square and around the MCG (between Gates 2 and 4) prior to the match.
