BAYLEY Fritsch says he didn’t place any limitations on what he could achieve in his first AFL-listed season.

Fritsch has played all but one match so far in 2018 and has been one of the most impressive debutants in the AFL this season.

The 21-year-old from Coldstream, via the Casey Demons, said he was always confident he could make an impact in his first year.

“Coming to the club, I didn’t have too many limits on what I could do,” he told Inside Melbourne.

“I thought I could come into the club and do as much as I could.

“It’s panned out that I played early and I’ve taken every week as it comes.”

Fritsch said it was unbelievable to make his AFL debut in round one, after some “pretty tough times” plying his trade at Casey and combining full-time work at the same time. But now, he said the journey had been worth it.

He added that the fact Melbourne’s game plan was being replicated at Casey Demons last year also played a part in his development.

And he thanked former Casey coach, and now Melbourne midfield coach, Justin Plapp for his efforts in helping him onto an AFL list.

“He was always by my side telling me to be as professional as I can,” he said.
