MELBOURNE will be hoping the luck of the Irish will be on its side as debutant Aoife Horisk makes her AFLW debut in veteran Paxy Paxman’s 100th game.

The 22-year-old arrived at the club ahead of the 2026 season as one of Ireland’s most exciting Gaelic football talents, renowned for her speed, aggression and work rate.

A standout at the AFLW Draft Combine before opting to join the Demons as an international recruit, Horisk recorded the fastest 20m sprint time at the event.

The inclusion of fellow inaugural Demon Lauren Pearce will complete the trio of Paxman, Pearce and Lampard for Paxman’s milestone match.

Captain Kate Hore was withdrawn from the side with a neck injury.

Katrina Gill, the club’s General Manager of AFLW, has provided an update on the Demon.

“Kate was experiencing neck pain. Unfortunately, scans have determined Kate has a disc injury which needs some time to settle,” Gill said.

“We will have an update on her availability after further assessment.”

Dynamic midfielder Shelley Heath-Barker will also miss the game due to a calf injury.
