A TRIO of Demons will be available for selection this week, as Melbourne prepares to face Hawthorn in its season-opener at IKON Park.
Sinead Goldrick (knee), Georgia Gall (concussion) and Laela Ebert (available) have all been cleared to exit the rehab group, putting their hand up for selection in Round 1.
Aoife Horisk is closing in on a return to footy following ankle surgery earlier this pre-season, entering back into a number of drills at training.
“Aoife has continued building her running loads and has now integrated into some of training,” said Josh Keily, Melbourne’s AFLW High Performance Manager.
“We’ll look to progress her further over the coming fortnight, with the aim to have her enter full training by the end of next week.”
In more positive news, four Demons have made their return to running.
“Maeve Chaplin (foot), Lauren Pearce (knee), Saraid Taylor (calf) and Jorja Livingstone (wrist) have all returned to running, which is a positive step forward in their rehab programs,” Keily said.
“We’ll look to ramp up Maeve, Lauren and Saraid’s rehab over the coming weeks, while Jorja will continue to focus on her running loads as she recovers from that wrist fracture.”
