VICE-CAPTAIN Jack Viney has returned to the training track in a positive step forward from back and achilles injuries.
Coach Steven King was quick to temper any expectations of an imminent return, but said the sighting would be a boost for the morale of his squad.
"He'll be training today which is great, so a step forward," King said.
"We'll just see how he goes, gets through today, ticks it off and just see how he recovers."
"I don't want to put any timeline on it because he could get through three quarters of the session today and pull up a bit lame."
King spoke to the unpredictable nature of Viney's recovery, after saying last week a return this year was becoming unlikely for the midfield bull.
"He's obviously had a couple of sessions and got to a point where he's recovered well," King said.
"Sometimes when you increase load your body either shuts down or actually responds well.
"He's taken a couple of steps forward so maybe he might have just broken though that barrier where he can string a couple of sessions together.
"I think anything is a bonus for Jack, just seeing him out there today will be great for the boys."
