THE DEMONS have suffered a 49-point loss, defeated by the Giants on Sunday afternoon.
Melbourne still sit in sixth place but its impressive start to the season has hit a speed bump at the midway point with successive losses, going down to GWS 19.5 (119) to 9.16 (70) in Alice Springs.
The GWS defence made every Demons entry a challenge, forcing the Melbourne forwards into difficult shots and hurried snaps, although that didn't stop Kozzy Pickett slotting a genuine Goal of the Year contender in the first quarter.
