A NEW era of Melbourne’s women’s program has begun, with the appointment of Katrina Gill as the club’s AFLW general manager.
Gill joins the Demons after spending the past 15 years at the Adelaide Football Club, most recently as the Crows’ AFLW general manager of list management and operations.
Throughout her time in Adelaide, Gill oversaw the club’s football department administration and list strategy, including contract negotiations and draft preparation.
Chief of Football & Innovation Ned Guy says Gill’s extensive experience at a club that has enjoyed sustained success across the competition’s 11-year history was an exciting prospect to welcome to the Demons.
“We’re really pleased to bring Kat onboard and head up what is a new-look women’s program for our club,” Guy said.
“With the recent announcement regarding the revisions that the AFLW competition will be introducing to the salary cap model, Kat’s experience in list management will ensure we maximise opportunities in this space.
“We obviously have enormous respect for Adelaide and the culture and program they have built over the past decade-plus, so we look forward to tapping into some of Kat’s insights and experience from her time at the Crows.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Shae Sloane, who has overseen this role over the past three months. Shae has led the program’s preparations for the 2026 season very capably and has been a great value to me personally in my first few months at the club.”
