Melbourne Football Club extends its condolences to the friends and family of past player, Peter Schofield.
Schofield pulled on the red and blue guernsey on six occasions in the season of 1953, having arrived from Richmond.
The rover-forward transferred mid-week from the Tigers, arriving at training in the week of Round 10 to train with the Demons in his Richmond kit.
He kicked 14 goals in six games, including five in a Round 12 draw against his old side.
At the conclusion of the 1953 season, he was delisted but finished his career at North Melbourne.
Schofield’s unique career includes being mentored by some of the game’s greatest coaches: Jack Dyer and Norm Smith.
