Laela Ebert has penned a one-year extension with the Dees following a stellar AFLW debut season.
Joining the club via the 2025 Supplemental Selection Period (SSP), the 19-year-old from Adelaide quickly demonstrated her worth, going on to feature in 14 of a possible 15 games this season.
Melbourne General Manager AFLW, Clare Pettyfor, praised the young defender for her work ethic.
“We’re really thrilled to have Laela sign on for 2026,” Pettyfor said.
“She arrived to us late in the pre-season as an injury replacement player, but very quickly impressed with her attitude and dedication.
“She is the type of player who coaches and teammates love because you can always rely on her to give her absolute all.
“Gritty, consistent and such a great role player.
“Layla’s capacity for growth is huge, and we are excited to see how she can continue to develop in 2026 and beyond.”
