NARRM’S Gab Colvin is closing in on a return to play after injuring her knee during pre-season.
The club’s AFLW High Performance Manager Josh Keily provided an update on the defender on Tuesday.
“Gab has returned to training with the full group,” said Keily.
“The aim for her now is to successfully complete main training on Wednesday with the hopes to get some game time in this weekend, in whatever capacity that may be.”
Coming out of Narrm’s win over Collingwood on Sunday, Shelley Heath was ruled out of the match during the second quarter, due to an elevated heart rate. Heath will continue to be assessed during the week, with Keily confident that she will be available for Round 4.
Sinead Goldrick missed last week’s game after it was confirmed that she had sustained an injury to her shoulder.
“We’re testing Sinead throughout this week and looking to get her involved in some modified contact,” said Keily.
“This will give us a better understanding of where she’s at for a return.”
Sarah Lampard is continuing to manage a calf injury sustained prior to Round 2.
“Our focus for Sarah has been about pain management,” said Keily.
“It’s a bit of a complex injury, so we’ve been seeking some further guidance and will map out a return to play plan once we know more.”
In positive news for Denby Taylor, the Demon has returned to running after managing bone stress in her foot during pre-season.
“It’s been great to see Denby return to running and now we’ll begin to ramp up her rehab, reloading her for game capacity,” said Keily.
In further good news for the squad, Tahlia Gillard (MCL) returned to running last week, while Blaithin Mackin (MCL) has started working through her rehab program.
Grace Beasley has integrated into main training and will continue to build on her rehab from an ACL injury sustained last season, while Jacinta Hose is preparing to run this Friday, the first time since she underwent back surgery earlier this year.
Midfielder Liv Purcell has undergone surgery on her knee this week after it was confirmed that she had ruptured her ACL during Round 2.
