PRIOR to Narrm’s four-point win over Collingwood, the two teams participated in a cultural gift exchange as part of AFLW Indigenous Round.

The two teams faced each other at Victoria Park (Wurundjeri Country) as part of the first round of the special two-week period honouring the culture and history of the league’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players.

Following a Welcome to Country from Wurundjeri man Uncle Colin Hunter Junior, Narrm gifted a hand-painted Sherrin to Collingwood created by Ricky Kildea from Marngrook Designs.

Kildea is a proud Dja Dja Wurrung man who has painted the football to celebrate connection and unity within women’s football.

Collingwood gifted Narrm a Moothang Letem Letem/Watanom (Blackwood timber boomerang), crafted by Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta man Jason Walker.
