MELBOURNE defender Blake Howes has put pen to paper on a new deal, keeping him in the red and blue for the next two seasons.
The 22-year-old, who was drafted by the Demons in 2021, agreed to terms on Friday, extending his time until at least the end of 2027.
Melbourne AFL List Manager Tim Lamb said the club was thrilled to secure Howes’ services.
“We’re really excited to have Blake sign on for the next two seasons,” Lamb said.
“Blake brings great versatility and athleticism to our mix, and has shown he can impact both in the air and at ground level. We’ve been really impressed by both his work rate and character, since he arrived four years ago.
“We see Blake as a big part of our future and look forward to having him continue to develop in our environment.”
Howes featured 16 times last season, having made his senior debut in Opening Round, and has added five games to his tally so far in 2025.
Originally from Mordialloc-Braeside, the 191cm tall was taken with pick No.39 in the 2021 National Draft. He went onto be part of Casey Demons’ VFL premiership side in his first season at the club.
Howes joins teammate Kysaiah Pickett in recently signing a fresh deal with the Demons.
