MIDFIELDER Jack Viney will miss Sunday’s match against St Kilda in Alice Springs as he continues to progress through the concussion protocols.
General Manager of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson said the Club was taking a cautious approach to Viney’s recovery.
“Jack has been slowly improving but unfortunately is not quite ready to return this week,” Richardson said.
“Following our training session this morning, it was decided Jack wasn’t quite ready for the demands of an AFL game.
“The objective measures are tracking well, and he will still travel with the team to Alice Springs where he will complete a game-load training session there.”
Viney will continue to work through the concussion protocols over the coming week.
Forward Jacob van Rooyen will join the extended squad, with the final team to be confirmed at 5pm (AEST) on Friday.
