NARRM’S experienced players have once again shown that they’re not slowing down anytime soon with Max Gawn and Jake Melksham topping the coaches votes for Round 10.
Gawn continues to go from strength-to-strength this year, receiving his six set of votes from Narrm’s 10 games. The Dees skipper collected his third perfect 10 of the season in his side’s win over the reigning premiers on Sunday.
Gawn was instrumental in the victory, particularly standing tall in the final term when Narrm clinched the lead and sealed their four points. At the final siren, he had tallied 22 disposals, eight clearances, 46 hit-outs and seven marks.
Melksham was second in line to be recognised by the coaches after kicking four goals in his return to the side.
After missing Round 9, the 33-year-old came back with a bang, providing an exciting energy that ignited the Dees’ forward line. In addition to his quartet of goals, he finished the day with 11 disposals, seven marks and eight score involvements.
Christian Petracca (three), Jake Bowey (two) and Kysaiah Pickett (one) rounded out the vote-getters for the Dees, while Brisbane’s Zac Bailey was acknowledged with six votes.
Gawn now sits third on the overall AFLCA leaderboard behind Geelong’s Bailey Smith and North Melbourne’s Tristan Xerri.
