The Casey Demons have stormed to their biggest win of the 2025 VFL season, dismantling Richmond by a staggering 118 points in front of a home crowd at Casey Fields on Thursday.

From the get-go, Casey controlled the contest, winning clearances with ease and converting inside 50s into scoreboard pressure. Leading the charge up forward was Jacob Van Rooyen, who looked unstoppable as he slotted five goals in a dominant display. He was well supported by Aiden Johnson and Mitchell Hardie with three apiece, while Bailey Laurie, Jack Henderson and Paddy Cross chimed in with two each.

At quarter-time, the contest remained even with both sides locked at 1.2 (8), suggesting a tightly fought battle ahead. However, from the second quarter onwards, Casey shifted gears dramatically. The Demons piled on relentless pressure, dominated possession, and capitalised on their forward entries to blow the game wide open. 

In the midfield, the Demon’s dominated the contest. Riley Bonner was everywhere, collecting a massive 44 disposals and playing a major role in the Dee’s quick ball movement. Hardie backed up his goal-scoring exploits with 37 touches, while Laurie continued his strong form with 35 possessions. Riley Baldi (33 disposals), Taj Woewodin and Oliver Sestan (28 each) also made their presence felt, pushing through the midfield with ease, leaving Richmond unable to respond.

Defensively, Casey was rock-solid, holding Richmond to just three goals for the match and launching off half-back with speed and clean disposal. The Tigers struggled to get any momentum, consistently being outmuscled and outworked across the ground. It was a well-deserved victory that not only reflected Casey's dominance on the day but also provided the momentum they need heading into the next round and beyond.
