MELBOURNE will step out for its Round 1 clash against the GWS Giants in a special edition Jim’s Game guernsey, featuring a green shamrock.

The Demons have dedicated their season-opening clash to recognise the life and legacy of club great Jim Stynes while raising funds for the foundation named in his honour.

The Round 1 event will see the Dees paint the town green, with Irish games, traditions and entertainment to take over the hallowed turf and its surrounds.

The match-issued guernseys will be open for auction, giving fans an exclusive chance to get their hands on the rare jumper which are not available for retail.

All funds raised from the auction will go to the Jim Stynes Foundation, to support the programs and initiatives that help young people thrive.
