THE CASEY Demons, displaying remarkable resilience and determination, secured their first win of the season in a nail-biting Round 3 clash against North Melbourne in the VFLW.

The scoreboard reflected the intensity of the match, with the Casey Demons emerging victorious by a narrow margin, 5.4 (34) to North Melbourne's 4.7 (31).

Jo Lin was the hero of the day with her exceptional skills and unwavering determination. From the outset, she asserted her influence on the game, opening the scoring with an inspired goal that set the tone for the Demons.

With the game hanging in the balance, a massive mark from Lin proved to be the decisive moment, as she coolly converted to secure Casey's first win of the season in the dying seconds of the game.

Lin's composure under pressure and ability to seize critical moments was instrumental in guiding the Casey Demons to victory.

Meg Macdonald led the charge in the midfield, dominating possession and dictating play with her strategic moves.

AFLW-listed players Ryleigh Wotherspoon and Delany Madigan delivered standout performances on debut. Wotherspoon's agility and precision were on full display, keeping the Roos on their toes the entire match.

Madigan's intercept play was nothing short of spectacular. She repeatedly disrupted the Roos' attacking momentum, and her decisive and exuberant performance kept the Dees in the fight.

Sarah Lampard's defensive efforts and a brief stint in the centre were crucial in thwarting North Melbourne's advances.

A notable moment for Niamh O'Neill in the first term was when, after receiving a precise pass from Dayna Smith, she scored an easy goal right in front. She followed up that effort by kicking another quick goal in under two minutes.

It was a closely contested match characterised by the team's cohesive play and clinical finishing that ultimately saw the Casey Demons emerge victorious in a nail-biting encounter against North Melbourne.
