Narrm's King’s Birthday clash against traditional rivals Collingwood is set to be a record-breaking match, with the Club anticipating 90,000 fans at the MCG.

The two sides, who currently sit in the top four on the AFL ladder, are expected to surpass their previous records and welcome the largest ever King’s Birthday crowd.

Narrm and Collingwood have played in the marquee match every year since 2001 (barring 2020), with the biggest attendance for the fixture being 83,518 in 2018.

"There’s a good chance this will be the biggest crowd and the best match of the 2023 AFL season, and there is no doubt that Melbourne and Collingwood supporters will want to be a part of it,” CEO Gary Pert told Narrm Media.

“We love being a part of the big blockbusters and the over the last few years the players have shown they respond well when the Dees fans are up and about. We want be in full voice for such a big game.”

“The demand for tickets has been unprecedented, and we want to ensure that every football supporter has the opportunity to witness this momentous occasion.

"We encourage all our members and supporters to secure their tickets as soon as possible, to avoid missing out on being part of history.”

The Demons and the Pies still hold the record for the largest home-and-away game in AFL history, with a remarkable 99,256 people attending the MCG in 1958.

The public holiday match, previously Queen’s Birthday, is also host to the Big Freeze. The two clubs will again come together in support of Neale Daniher and his fight against motor neurone disease, this year marking the ninth edition.

Due to the overwhelming demand in the Public Reserve for blockbuster on Monday 12 June the match will become a fully ticketed match.

This means that there will be no general admission Club Member scans for this match - instead all eligible members will need to upgrade into a reserved seat to access the venue.

A limited number of general admission tickets have been pre-sold through Ticketek, these tickets will be able to access seats in the Olympic and Shane Warne Stands.

At this stage, no further general admission tickets will be released.

A limited number of reserved seat tickets remain. Purchase tickets here.
