MELBOURNE midfielder James Harmes is helping kick off the club’s Retro Rival Round by recounting some of his favourite football memories.

The Demon star sat down to take fans through his Top Five Retro Moments, brought to you by Zurich.

No.5 – Plugger and the pig

In fifth place, Harmes selected a humorous moment from 1993 – before he was even born.

The 23-year-old has seen this moment on YouTube time and time again, where a pig ran onto the SCG.

No.4 – The Wizard, Jeff Farmer

Harmes grew up a big Melbourne fan, and fondly remembers watching Jeff Farmer’s highlights reel on the MCG.

Farmer’s specky against the Tigers and running goal against the Hawks was certainly a worthy selection.

No.3 – Allen Jakovich’s kiss

Allen Jakovich created many highlights for Demons fans, but one of his best moments came after slotting a goal over his brother’s head.

Jakovich celebrated the major by walking over to Glen and planting a kiss on his cheek – antics Harmes certainly approves.

No.2 – Garry Lyon on the stretcher

It’s iconic for all the wrong reasons, but Harmes couldn’t get enough of Garry Lyon’s famous moment on the stretcher.

Lyon had tears of pain after breaking his leg, but Harmes was more than happy to bring the vision to the forefront once again.

No.1 – Jeff White kicks the winner

Harmes’ favourite footy memory dates back to 2005, where he sat on his couch as a 10-year-old boy and watched Jeff White slot a 50-metre bomb in the dying seconds against the Bulldogs.

White’s goal handed the Demons victory in Round 21, and gave the red and blue a finals berth.
