THE 2023 SEASON is around the corner bringing some of Melbourne’s biggest games back to the home of football, the MCG.

Melbourne’s jam-packed fixture brings several marquee games to get excited for with tickets going on sale for the first fifteen rounds from today.

Round 1 | Melbourne v Western Bulldogs | Saturday 18 March 7:25pm | MCG

The 2021 Grand-final rematch will be sure to attract a large crowd with both teams wanting a strong and positive start to their seasons.

Both teams will field their star-studded midfields, seeing classic match ups such as Viney vs Libatore, Oliver vs McRae and Petracca vs Bontempelli all fighting to start the 2023 season on the right foot.

It will also be the first chance for Melbourne fans to see some new Demons with Brodie Grundy, Lachie Hunter, Josh Schache and a long list of draftees all vying for Round 1 positions.

Round 3 | Melbourne v Sydney Swan |Sunday 2 April 3:20pm | MCG

Round 3 sees a tough opponent in the Sydney Swans make the journey to the MCG, in an early opportunity to get one back on the Swans after last year's finals exit.

The 2022 Grand finalists will be out to make up for their tough loss at the end of last season.

A number of AFL superstars will go head-to-head, with Melbourne’s rock down back May and legend of the game Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin renew hostilities, after a thrilling battle last year.

Round 6 | Melbourne v Richmond |Monday 24 April 7:20pm | MCG | ANZAC Eve

Round 6 brings the return of our annual ANZAC Eve game against Richmond Tigers under the floodlights at the MCG. 

The game is sure to bring a large crowd for one of the most important games of the season.

The lights at the MCG will be dimmed and the crowd will fall silent while a torch lit from the Eternal Flame at the Shrine of Remembrance will be delivered to the 'G, where it’s then used to light a cauldron to burn for the duration of the match.

Round 12 | Melbourne v Carlton | Friday 2 June 7:50pm | MCG

Carlton under lights at the MCG brings back all the memories of Kozzy Pickett’s last gasp magic from last season and you won’t want to miss the rematch.

After a blockbuster end to last season’s home and away tie, the Friday night game will be sure to bring a packed MCG to its feet.

The Blues will be sure to do their best to stop the Melbourne Superstar from a repeat of his heroics.

Round 13 | Melbourne v Collingwood | Monday 12 June 3:20pm | MCG

The Round 13 clash sees a favourite for all AFL fans return yet again, the King’s Birthday game partnered with Fight MND will see hero of the sport Neale Daniher return to the ‘G for Big Freeze 9.

Two of the sport’s most historic clubs will go head-to-head in what always promises to be a tight encounter,

The  game each year brings nothing but excitement and energy as Neale Daniher and his family get the slide ready to raise money for the Fight MND cause.

A game in everyone’s calendar and a sea of blue Big Freeze Beanies will be on display to be watched across the country.
