Melbourne is set to play the Saints and Tigers.

MELBOURNE has been scheduled take on the Saints and Tigers in pre-season action as the AFL has handed down its full fixture of practice match play.

The 2023 pre-season schedule is composed of one session of inter-club match simulation and an official practice match for each side, with all practice matches free for fans to attend.

The Demons’ first encounter will be with the Saints on Friday February 24 at 4pm at RSEA Park.

The sides will play six 25 minute periods of match simulation with no time on, as players rotating in and out of the line-ups across the afternoon.

Melbourne’s match-up with the Tigers will take the form of a traditional AFL match, with regular quarter timings and match structure on Saturday March 4 at Casey Fields.

AFL Executive General Manager Clubs and Broadcast Travis Auld said that he was pleased to give footy fans a glimpse of what is in store for the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. 

“After an incredible 2022 - in which we saw two AFLW seasons and one of the best AFL seasons on record - the football industry took a well-earned break. Now, footy returns and momentum builds for the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season,” Auld said. 

“Fans will get their first glimpse at new players, new coaches, and new captains ahead of a big 2023 season.”
