THE DEMONS switched the Sherrin for bat and ball this week, going head-to-head in an old-fashioned indoor cricket match.

With competitive juices flowing, teams of City, Country, Coaches and Staff all took to the pitch, in what made for an afternoon of team bonding – and plenty of banter.

The round robin fixture created opportunities for everyone to get involved and show off their signature style.

Senior coach Simon Goodwin and his son Eddie proved a dynamic duo at the crease, outlasting many, while runs were hard to come by for others (the defensive Christian Salem).

Angus Brayshaw was, of course, in his element, matched by James Jordon in all-round impact. Paceman Adam Tomlinson also impressed in attack.

But the day belonged to the coaches, whose formidable batting partnerships secured victory over Christian Petracca’s team and earned them the highly sought after bragging rights.
