MELBOURNE was without Max Gawn and Luke Jackson last week, but it could receive a boost in the middle of the ground come Thursday night.

Ahead of the Demons’ road-trip to Geelong, the ruck duo will face a fitness test in a bid to earn their spot at selection.

Round 16 was the second consecutive match Gawn missed with syndesmosis, following his injury against the Magpies, while Jackson was withdrawn from the side that faced Adelaide with knee soreness.

Andy Moniz-Wakefield was also made unavailable last week due to groin soreness and will miss another one to two weeks of action before returning via the VFL.

Daniel Turner (face) and Blake Howes (foot) could be back on the park in the next couple of weeks, while Joel Smith (foot) is upping his training loads.

Tom McDonald’s timeframe has also reduced, with the key forward increasing the workload on his foot, with the hope to return in in eight to 10 weeks’ time.

Watch below as Dr. Laura Lallenec provides an update on the club’s full injury list.
