Pre-season update: McDonald to Sellar
Pre-season update: McDonald to Sellar
Tom has taken his running and endurance to a new level. After finishing third in the club best and fairest, there has been no fall back into a comfort zone. He’s striving to improve all of the time and is a very driven character. Tom’s very keen to establish himself as one of the key tall defenders in the competition. – Jade Rawlings
26. Daniel Nicholson
Along with the likes of Tom McDonald, Dan has driven the standards with the running. His leadership and understanding of how we want him to play as a defender has been fantastic. He has shown genuine development in the past six weeks. We’re expecting a really positive improvement in his game in 2013. – Jade Rawlings
27. Tom Gillies
Tom has fitted into the group really well. He’s a quieter type of fella, but he goes about his business really well in an under the radar manner. The boys have been really keen to tap into his knowledge, as he was part of the Geelong backline for four years. He’s really impressed us with his involvement and ability to fit into the group early. – Jade Rawlings
28. Joel Macdonald
Joel’s had a very solid pre-season. He always meets high levels from an endurance perspective. He had a tight back for about two weeks, which interrupted his training, but he’s consistently aggressive and physical. Joel brings a lot to the group from a spiritual sense as well. – Jade Rawlings
30. James Sellar
James has been as consistent as there has been, I believe, pre-Christmas. He hasn’t missed a session and his attention to detail is great. He’s improved in the areas we’ve asked him to and he’s very driven to establish a consistent spot in our starting 18. – Jade Rawlings
