IF THERE’S one thing we know about Demon Charlie Spargo it’s that he’s a great kick of the footy.

In fact, he’s ranked second in the league for marked kicks inside 50, which means he plays a crucial role in the team’s link to score.

The small forward often flies under the radar for these efforts, but internally has been rewarded this week for his game, re-signing with Narrm for the next three years.

“It was an easy decision,” Spargo told Narrm Media following his contract extension.

“I feel pretty privileged to be in such a good space at the moment.

“I feel so lucky to be around really good coaches [and] I’ve made some really good friends over the last five years.

“There’s a great support network and we’re building something really special.

“I’m happy that they’ve shown faith in me.”

At just 22 years old, Spargo has already achieved what many work their whole career towards.

The Demon is a 2021 AFL Premiership player and is currently in a team with a 16-game winning streak.

Despite this early career success, Spargo is just as excited to see what else Narrm can achieve and what he himself can accomplish in his upcoming time at the club.

“We’ve got a good core group of players that are in a similar age bracket and we’re really bullish on what the next two to three years holds,” Spargo said.

“[I’m looking forward to] seeing how much we can improve as a team but also me as a player.

“In the last 12 to 18 months, I’ve improved a lot as a footballer on the field and matured a lot off the field.

“Something I’ve been aiming to work on is imparting my knowledge on those a little bit younger than me and I feel like I’ve learned some valuable lessons in my first four years that I can help them out with.”
