MELBOURNE’S Blake Howes is set for a stint on the sidelines after sustaining an injury to his foot.

The young Demon will undergo surgery this week, with a return timeline to be confirmed following the procedure.

Michael Hibberd has continued to progress in his calf rehab, looking to make a return to training next week, while Daniel Turner has started running for the first time since his foot injury back in March.

Defender Christian Salem will be now looking at a return in four to five weeks as he takes positive steps forward in his knee rehab.
